The small town of Guatay, located in the Mountain Empire, lies about 45 minutes east of San Diego. Guatay is an unincorporated community just off Interstate 8 along Old Highway 80.
Thanks to its location in the Cleveland National Forest and an elevation of 3,999 feet, Guatay offers plenty of mountainous recreational activities. Cuyamaca Rancho State Park is just a short drive away and there are numerous hiking and horseback riding trails, campgrounds and more in the area.
The climate in Guatay varies and the town enjoys four seasons, courtesy of its higher elevation. Unlike many locations in Southern California, snow is a possibility in the winter. Summer highs are often in the 80s.
There are just over 700 residents. Students attend school in neighboring towns in the Mountain Empire School District.
Enjoy the wonders of nature by choosing a home in Guatay.
